Hi,
I have an old cromo frame that I picked up recently second hand but I have no idea who the manufacturer is.
The underside of the crank on the frame has a serial number Y4F4132.
I'm guessing its Japanese or something? It's quite a light frame though. Probably just over a kilo.
Anyone have any ideas? No other markings are available.
Cheers
Glenn

Fire away, can't do any harm if you have the pictures there.
....I see the Olympics are generally lugged. Mine is brazed. Will email a few pics if it'll help...
Now you have thrown me, going down the CB does lead your to Claud Butler, using the CB06 Adding the 01517 would lead me towards the Olympic model.
Is it a vintage bike or fairly new?
Adding Columbus takes me away from Claud's all together
I believe it's new-ish. Have spoken to friends in 'the business' and it's been sand-blasted and re-sprayed.
Are there any codes on the rear drop outs?
But I have something to work with now, let me do a little digging
Not that I can see. It's Columbus, though. Really appreciate this - thanks!
and try on retrobike's road section if it's of any age ...
Thanks, will take a look. No idea of age at all.
Stick up the full number codes and where they are on the bike, there should be a couple of identifying marks.
OR, take pictures and stick them up.
Thanks, Keith.
CB06-M
HBMS 01517
Both under bottom bracket.
Frame is very similar to a Charge Plug, if it helps.
