Podium Cafe is free to play if he's interested......he won't actually be able to do anything after picking his team but hey he only cares about playing every race for free .....
Couldn't agree more. Where do the salaries and overhead costs come from? Plus prizes etc. what a ridiculous thing to say. You have a free game with 8 races, if you want the full package then contribute £10 towards all the hard work that goes behind the scenes.
Can these races not be put on the site for easy access
Spring Classics, Cri du Dauphine, Giro, TDF, Autumn classics, Vuelta, Tour of Britain, World Champs. That's a good 8
If you wasted one of your freebies on an Aussie only TDF purist game, more fool you
Restricting free access to only 8 races is a joke. Why does everything have to come down to money?
because without money Dave and the team couldn't run more than 8 races anyway?
Without money they couldn't run any races. I can't believe people moan about £10 for a year of this game, that's great value.
What a silly, infantile comment. Hope you are suitably embarrassed.
Because it costs money and labour to run the game.
Rubbish, these things are run off a glorified spreadsheet and takes minutes to complete. But whatever, obviously you rich chaps have money to burn so good luck to you.
Nice. Whining sure beats being grateful for someone suppling you with something for nothing. Grow up.
Lol...Fancy telling someone to grow up with that name......So Funny
If it's that easy; in the time you've wasted with your infantile tantrums you could have produced a free world-beating cycling fantasy game that will take you seconds to update after every stage and have prizes better than those available here.
For the realists amongst us, over a year £10 is a miniscule amount (less than 3p per day) to pay to have fun, to whinge and moan, to get dissed by other players and to hope that for once you've selected a squad to win just one stage or badge or even competition.
If you don't like the rules, tough.
the stage updates do now only take minutes to complete. but that's only because we've spent the last four years updating and refining the thousands of lines of game code to make it so. and because it runs on its own, fast, dedicated server. the premium memberships help to pay for that stuff. without them you'd be able to play precisely zero competitions for free.
also: rich? money to burn? it's ten quid.
Nobody's forcing you to play you know
Ouch.
I happen to think a tenner is great value for a competition with great prizes (that I have no hope of winning !!) and year long entertainment.
Really surprised people don't feel that's worth the small investment.
Thank you, Dave!!
there's currently 26 tours in the system:
Tour de San Luis
Tour Down Under
Tour of Qatar
Tour Mediterraneen
Tour of Oman
Volta ao Algarve
Spring Classics
Paris-Nice
Women's World Cup
Tirreno-Adriatico
Volta Catalunya
Vuelta Pais Vasco
Giro del Trentino
Tour de Romandie
Giro d'Italia
Tour of California
Criterium du Dauphine
Tour de Suisse
Tour de France
Autumn Classics
Tour de Pologne
Eneco Tour
USA Pro Cycling Challenge
Vuelta a Espana
World Championships
Tour of Britain
you can assume most of them will have a standard and a purist competition, and some will have a local riders only comp too. so in total there's probably just over 50 competitions planned.
like i said in a previous thread, there's more scope now for adding extra competitions if there's enough demand for them. so there may be others cropping up along the way.
Thanks Joelsim
that's a good starting point, it would be even better to know the rest of the races too.
All the WT races are on there, so a starting point could be:
Spring Classics
Giro
Tour
Vuelta
Autumn Classics
WC
+ 2 more of your choice.
Last year there were 26 races.
