Had an accidental damage claim when a guy on a mountain bike came out of a side street without looking. I went base over apex, the wheel, bar and fork were trashed and the shifters slightly scratched.
The other guy wasn't covered, but cycle plan covered me for the full cost of repairs based on a written estimate from the LBS.
Oh, replacement helmet covered as part of the claim too.
Whole process only took a week or so to sort out, and the claims firm they used were fine when I dealt with them by phone and email.
I dare say that some proof will be needed for a theft claim - I wouldn't expect any insurance policy to pay out on theft without CRN, photos etc. but the experience above gives me some confidence that they won't obstructively get in the way of a valid claim.
That's just my experience though; you pays your money, etc.
Sounds painful, glad your ok.
Thanks for your input.
whoops double post
Went with Cycleplan for the price, but renewing with them for the service - brilliant claims handling experience when I needed it.
Highly recommend.
Care to elaborate? I'm considering them for my bike, based on the price, but worried they'll turn round if my bike gets nicked and ask me to prove it was properly locked.
done
Drop me a PM if such a thing exists on here - I can help.
