Was just about to chip in with my thoughts on Rose and Giant Propel (demoing a Propel on Saturday!) but seems pointless now! I had a little spin on an Aithein recently, and it was lovely but didn't feel or look a huge amount different to my current ally bike. That's why the Propel really appeals to me, I think it is one of the best looking sub £2k bikes out there.
erm...
so in a complete turnaround based entirely on budget, I've gone for a Kinesis Aithein, a set of handbuilts, and the mixed Chorus/Record 10spd group I have on my current good bike. So TTs are ruled out, but I'll have an awesome bike come crit season![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)

this is exactly the same situation i am in now...
going for a test ride on some Rose bikes this weekend and might see if i can get on a Propel too.
@s_lim - did you go for one over the other yet?
I'm not too worried about the weight; I'm racing on an 8kg alloy bike atm, but am concerned about having decent wheels.
The Rose options make it more attractive - cheers for the advice.
I've got the Giant Propel Advanced 1 (2015 model) and I think it's a great bike - although it could do with a wheel upgrade. The steerer is alloy, and it's a Giant saddle.
The Giant Propel Advanced Pro 1 comes with Giant aero wheels, full carbon steerer and a Fizik saddle if you need those.
I also have a Rose CX bike, and I am very impressed with it. I think the Rose will probably be lighter, but weight isn't everything with aero bikes.
