Out of those 3 the De Rosa would be my pick
However the above rose would also be extremely tempting with a trip to the alps or the Tirol....
I decided to let my head rule my heart and went with the Rose Xeon CDX 3100 Di2 - the De Rosa looks beautiful I have to say - but the £1300 price difference was a bit too much.
A £2.4k bike I'll ride and enjoy, a £3.7k bike is something I'd be paranoid over. Arbitrary I know![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
I found myself with exactly the same happy dilemma. I looked at all those bikes and also the KTM Revelator Sky Di2.
In summary I have ordered the De Rosa.
As to why....I'm getting on for 50. I'm still reasonably quick and fit with a competitive streak but I'm not out to win anything so I'm more than happy to trade a minor weight / aero penalty for disc brakes in return for the advantages and safety of consistent braking. My spine is also demanding a slightly more relaxed geometry for longer club rides and sportive type events. As to the choice of bike, the De Rosa is not the winner on what equipment you get for your money, I think the KTM wins on that front. Technically it may not be the best handling, lightest, stiffest, have the best wheels etc, maybe it is, I really wouldn't know and probably couldn't tell the difference anyway.
All are exceedingly nice bikes, but for me, only the De Rosa aroused a yearning desire to own it. I realise that is subjective and irrational, but when I open the garage door I want to feel a bit of passion. After all, I'm riding the thing for no other purpose than the simple joy of riding a bicycle and when people question my sanity about spending so much on a push bike (which they inevitably will if they ever find out how much it cost) then instead of trying to justify it on the grounds of technical merit it might be easier to simply say 'Because it is beautiful'.
daddyELVIS - snap, out of those 3 the DeRosa wins it but on a personal level i would take a look at the Felt bikes. Fantastic build quality and really good looks for what you get for your money.
I've heard great things about the Cannondale. The Giant (I presume you're talking about the Defy model) has the worst looks, in my opinion. The DeRosa looks fantastic, but you might also find it has a slightly more aggressive fit than the other two. If it was me, my head would say the Cannondale, but my heart would say the DeRosa. I usually follow my heart!
