Creaking in left crank area

When I'm out of the saddle there is a creaking/ clicking coming from the left crank area. I'm thinking it's the pedal crank as I had the bottom bracket replaced very recently. Has anyone experienced the same thing? I've got shimano pd-r540 pedals, if that helps.

Had this happen to mine a few weeks ago. Short-term fix was to tighten the bolts on the chainrings. This implied there was a little flex there. The long-term fix was to add an additional paper-thin shim when I was putting my cranks back on after servicing the bottom bracket.

What sort of crank/bottom-bracket are you using?

Those pedals can be clicky when the bearings go bad.

Add: left crank correctly & tightly fitted! Bolts worked loose on mine a few months ago, and it wrenched off taking a local KoM.

Could be so man things, check these and eliminate one by one..
Cleats
Pedals tight in threads
Bottom bracket correctly fitted
Front and rear skewer
Bottle cage bolts
Handlebar stem interface
Pedal bearings
The list goes on tbh, it's just a case of finding the right thing and being methodical.
