Thanks that's brilliant info..wish I'd known this a couple of months ago![14](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/14.gif)
apparently it does work, wasn't aware you could get the bits so cheaply though.

Do you know that these are definitely both compatible with each other? Is the spacing between the poppers the same size?
It's what I've been using since last August. If the space between the poppers is different, its close enough not to matter.
Buy one of these -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351491790506
and one of these -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007XCLU66
More or less the same price as the one linked and it *is* a Garmin HRM with a Polar Strap (probably the most reliable combo there is)
Bought the exact same thing a few months ago...was perfect for about a month but now seems to glitch on every ride and gives me a max hr of ~230 and quite often drops my hr to ~65 which is also definitely wrong.
Saying all this its not too bad for basic training and to help me pace climbs and time trials.
Would I buy again....I'm not sure, I would possibly pay extra for a Garmin or polar heart rate strap, I guess it depends how much cash I had lying around
