Sounds about right – I had a Mercian made two years ago and it took over six months – frustrating waiting but made it even more special when it was ready.
In society that craves things instantly it's sometimes good to wait for the best things in life.
I agree with crikey. Didn't you get a contract with estimated delivery time. Ring up anonymously and ask about a new build with delivery times. If it's much less than your build , decide whether to cancel.

There are few advantages to buying a custom bike, as evidenced by the way they make such bikes with adjustable seat pins and stems.

Depends on who with, sometimes it may be a week or two, I know of certain sought after frame builders with a 2 year+ wait list.
Also if there is a large amount of complexity that would increase time...
