What quick fit mudguards for disc road bike?
Hi all, I've looked at all the reviews I can find and can't seem to make my mind up. I'd like some full-coverage mudguards for my Genesis CdA. I'm using 28mm Schwalbe One tyres on Stan's Crest rims.
I'd like to be able to remove them for fine days as well!

Glad you asked. It generally thicker due to the blubber - it has a higher fat content than animals who have been bred for eating.

Bontrager full length ones have been the easiest ones To fit and adjust. They just don't look very good though.
Thanks for the info chaps. I've seen a pair of halfords own brand guards that have mid-stay quick fit attachments. They may be a bit narrow but at £15 may be worth a punt...
If they're narrow you could find you get more spray than a pair with proper coverage for your tyres. But for £15...
Fitting full length mudguards can be a problem where the disc brake projects outward beyond the fork and rear stays ends. Spacers will be needed to allow the mudguard fixing bolt to engage the mudguard eye. Fixing a rear rack can add to the problem. Topeak make rear racks with disc mounts that provide the space and allow a normal size fixing bolt to be used. I have not tried this yet but hopefully a longer bolt would take a mudguard fixing as well.
I use Bontrager full guards on my 28 mm tyred gravel bike. 10 minute job to fit/remove. Around £35 I think.
crud roadrace will only fit a 23 tyre without rubbing, 25 at a push but it will catch and skweek a lot in my experience of them last winter.
I had to swap out my 25's and put 23's on to get cruds to fit without rubbing.
I have a disc road bike that doesn't have rack mounts so I am going to use crud roadrace mkII's and just cut and glue the arms to fit as the arms will have to avoid the caliper mount points.
Full mudguards fit and ride all winter. I used whyte mudguards on my Boardman CXR. They worked very well. Don't worry about the odd dry day if you're going to ride through winter
+1. Tortec full length (black, not chrome).
There are clip-on alternatives like Raceblade Longs but they're all compromised. A bike like the CdA deserves to be suitably atired for adverse conditions
