Stolen Pinarello Dogma F8

Hi,

A Pinarello Dogma F8 was being delivered to my office (London). Between it being signed for and getting to me it has gone missing.

Size 53cm. In the colour scheme (naked/red) like the attached photo. It was in a Pinarello branded cardboard bike box.

Thanks very much.

James

Speaking as a totally unqualified Google expert...

Unless your employer specifically insures employee's personal property, then I'm afraid that it would appear that once delivery has been signed for then you are on a very sticky wicket. You would need to either prove that the box was not delivered, that the signature is not genuine, or that the correct item was not left by the courier. Probably a little difficult. This would be even harder if you have a large post room and someone just signed for a consignment of many packages rather than just your personal item.

Assuming that the delivery signature is genuine, The courier company will say that they have proof of delivery, the supplier can also point to that as proof that they supplied the goods and that they were received.

If there is definite proof that the package was received, e.g unambiguous cctv for example, then it becomes an internal matter just as any personal items being stolen from a desk or locker room. Although you have every right to report the theft to the Police.

However...

1. Ask the supplier to check with the courier that they have not made a delivery error. I think you need to do it this way as it is the supplier who has the contract for delivery with the courier and not you.

2. You will almost certainly be covered against loss by theft if you bought the goods with a debit or credit card. Contact the credit card company / bank to make a claim.

3. You may have some level of cover on home contents or cycle specific insurance.

Hope your bike does turn up, in my experience these things are usually just a mistake.

Thanks very much for this. Having done my fair share of Googling it's a hell of a grey area! All kinds of inquiries are being made. Won't give up!

Worth checking with delivery company for who signed for it plus building cctv, etc.

Although I'm sure you've thought of that already.

Sorry to hear about. Stunning bike.
