Shimano Ultegra Crank or Slow Campy conversion

Hi all,

I'm running a Genesis Equlibrium disc steel machine and enjoying it a lot. I do experience one issue with the sound coming from the crank region (every now and then - especially under heavy load during climbs). Putting aside this topic which drives me nuts (I played around wih saddle, seatpost, stem, dismantled the crank/cleaned/degreased/greased few times,  changed the bottom bracket 4600 to 6800 one, fiddled with pedals...i.e. every possible bolt on the bike) and I still can't get the sound eliminated.

I decided to change the crank sometime soon (Shimano FC-RS 500). Now, Campy switch sounds very appealing to me.

Ultegra 6800 or start slowly moving to Campy by running the Athena (metal version) first with 105 rest of the equipment? I know many of you will be disgusted with the Shimangolo concept but let me hear some thoughts.

Thanks guys!

Ogi
