im looking at possibly upgrading to Ultegra Di2, could anyone give me a list of parts needed, also can I carry on using my exsisting chainset?

You're welcome MrLeffe. One last item. Go here and download the free Shimano e-Tube Project.  http://e-tubeproject.shimano.com/  It's what your LBS uses to update Di2 software, configure its operational functionality and to troubleshoot/diagnose Di2 issues. It's very easy to use if you wish to make changes later on to shifting speed, L/R paddle funtionality, or to just perform a system health check.

Sorry, missed your second part about the chain. Shimano 10 and 11 speed chains have the same internal widths but not the same overall external widths. Yes, you can use a 10 speed chain on an 11 speed drivechain but there will be the occaasional/frequent chain rub noise. Chains are inexpensive so why not buy buy new to go along with your new drivetrain? You wouldn't buy a new car motor/engine and use old oil would you?

FC-6800 Crankset: 
       170 or 172.5 or 175 x 34/50 
or   170 or 172.5 or 175 x 39/53
or   170 or 172.5 or 175 x 36/52 

SM-6800 Bottom Bracket: English  or Italian or BB86

CS-6800 Cassette:   11x25  or 11x28 or 11x32  (note:11x32 requres GS medium cage)

Ultegra Chain CN-HG700-11 or other brand 11 speed chain - KMC, etc

BR-6800 Brakes (set with cables and housing)

Di2 ST-6870 Dual Control Levers

Di2 FD-6870 Front Derailleur: Braze-On or Clamp-On

Di2 RD-6870 Rear Derailleur:  SS (short cage) or  GS  (medium cage)

Battery     SM-BTR2 (Internal Seat Post Mount)

Battery internal seat post mounting bracket (Ritchie works great and inexpensive)

Battery Charger with USB cable

Wall mount AC/DC converter (minimum 1 mA output)

Junction SM-EW90 (A)  - 3 port  or  (5 port is extra $$ and mostly used for TT bars and/or with external climbing switch)

Junction SM-JC41 Junction (B). Mounts inside downtube.

EW-SD50 Electric wires included all sizes listed below. Measure carefully. Battery wire needs extra length to ensure seat post will exit seat tube.
(1400mm, 1200mm, 1000mm, 950mm, 900mm, 850mm, 800mm, 750mm, 700mm, 650mm, 600mm, 550mm, 500mm, 400mm, 350mm, 300mm, 250mm, 200mm, 150mm)

You can use your chainset no probs. Best to stick to the right speed chainset but I swapped to the 6800 crank running 10 speed 6700 and it's absolutely no problem.
