Hi All
wanted to introduce you all to our wonderful charity cycle event planned for next August 2011.
The Big Life Ride is a 12 hour bike relay and our aim is to raise £1 million pounds for our charities:
Cancer Research UK
Macmillan Cancer Support
Livestrong
Rainbow's Children's Hospice
the event will take place at Mallory Park and is a relay around the race track - we are looking for teams of up to 12 riders to register. You don't need to get 12 riders but the concept is that each rider rides for 1 hour before handing over relay style in the pits to their next team member and so on.
We ask that each rider gets sponsorship of at least £200 each to help us with our great causes.
You are raising money on the amount of time you ride and not speed or distance - thus it is open to all ages and abilities from families to pro riders !!
We have support from Phil Liggett and we are currently tracking down more pro riders and teams to help support us. There is an auction of cycling memorabilia running on the website at the moment and we will have another auction on the day of the event with all proceeds going to our fundraising.
During the event there will be a cycle industry/retailer trade expo show going on and we have invited all the main players so there will be lots to do with other items being added all the time.
So we need your help in riding our event as we aim to make it the biggest charity bike event of the year.
Please check our site and facebook page for more info www.thebigliferide.com and we hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Phil Craddock
