Endura Heium jacket and a base layer of your choice: I was out for 60 miles last Saturday in thunder, lightening and then glorious sunshine. It is truly the jacket for all seasons!
After the Fred Whitton I can heartily recommend the dhb Droxford jacket:

currently half price at wiggle:

1 x Altura Night Vision Waterproof Jacket + Altura![4](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/4.gif)
2nd Skin Long Sleeve Base Layer = comfortable commute.
I had this problem a few years ago, i dont know if there is anything better on the go now, but back then i got a "mac in a sack" thing
So it fits in the back pocket while out cycling incase the weather takes a turn for the worse
