Dura Ace chainring

I've got a Scott tt bike with dura ace kit. I was looking at the chainring and it seems that some of the teeth have lost the tops of the teeth but looking at chain reaction
(http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=38161) seems to the design anyone know why this is?

It's to help the chain ramp up at the shifting points where the power transfer from the rider is most likely to stop it doing so.
