cheap 100% waterproof gloves
Fed up with soaking wet hands on the commute misery ?
The answer is cheap and effective.
Buy a pair of those black heavyweight Marigolds and wear them over your regular gloves. I did this for my commute today and my hands stayed completely dry in a heavy downpour.
You need to make sure that the cuffs of your jacket / cape are nice and tight around your wrist so that the top of the glove is covered and won't let in.

Why didn't I think of that before? Cheap, grippy windproof and thoroughly waterproof, just what I could have done with on my LeJog last year. I'll have to pass the tip on to my friend who has Reynauds syndrome (poor circulation / cold hands).
They also do a bright pink for the ladies, so no worries about them not having a "range" for them
hahaha
I won't wear pink clothing on the bike as I cycle on my own a lot and don't want to be identified from a distance as a woman (woman on her own). I mean it's fairly obvious in other ways I guess (I hope!) but it's just a little extra security thing 
I should add that they are also superbly grippy even when the rain's running off them. And they fold up nice and flat too.
Another commuting tip. If you use a small Camelback style rucksack, put it on under your cape. I'm assuming your cape is a loose fit of course. If you don't mind the Quasimodo look it keeps your gear dry and your back nice and warm.
Good suggestion...and if you wear the yellow ones they'd be high viz. Plus you'd be poised and ready to do the washing up for your wife when you got home! Liking it
