Lookin' good, Dave. Classifieds is a bit of a scroll, also text boxes when I use the phone in landscape (but I get that with lots of sites so presumably that's Chrome rather than you). But yeah, i'm impressed.
I appreciate the mobile site but will continue with the full site on the iPhone and iPad. I don't mind the BBC News style of the phone version but just prefer the full site - even with ads which is odd.
Must confess I use the full site even on my mobile - just like the whole feel of it. But the mobile site is very good imho.
Maybe a 'Review special' once a year e-mag with test reports on the top rated bikes and kit (best in class type thing).
I have a lot of time for the guys that run this site - they respond will, have been helpful to me in the past when I have emailed them, etc.
It is good to see from the majority of feedback in this thread that direction being taken would appear to be the right one.
As for paper mags - guess I am just showing my age!
I wouldn't be interested in anything on paper. I think the value of road.cc is on the web side of things, in particular the level of interactivity on offer.
An e-magazine? Don't see any harm in it but what value would it add over and above the site?
Even on the "app" side of things, a more mobile-friendly web site would be great - I spend several hours a day where my only contact with the cloud is through my Android - but is a full-blown app required?
As a follow-on to this I am very impressed with Wiggle's new mobile offering, also visited Evans' site the other day and that was good. I realise these are different types of site to rcc but the way they've been purposefully developed for small screens is great. I'm not up on web development for mobiles, would you need essentially different codebases for Google and Apple browsers?
Tony do you guys look at the stats for what browsers are hitting your site? I wonder how many people are hitting your site using mobiles?
point your phone at m.road.cc
still in soft launch![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
Great. Thanks Tony. You have given the sort of feedback I was looking for.
I wanted to see/ know the strength and direction of the site. Partly nosey on my part but also as it is something I enjoy. I guess the magazine idea was more born out of, perhaps, an idea for somewhere to have back to back bike tests for eg.
An app sounds (android too please not just i phone)good.
Btw my bike proudly wears its road.cc 'flag' and username now.
Looking forward to a positive year for road.cc
Hi Super Domestique, no no real plans on that front - maybe some sort of app in the future, but even then not sure it would be a magazine simply because the website (hopefully) fullfils the functions of a magazine as it is… and more so cos it's interactive and it's always growing.
We really believe in the web and in our view we (and you) would get a much better return on the money it would cost to print a mag if we invested it in devloping the site.
We do have big plans in that direction for next year and not just for expending road.cc in the virtual realm but also for bringing out beyond our Bath fastness.
Save the trees![19](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/19.gif)
I am talking about a print or e magazine with different pieces in. A bit like an mtb mag I get.
Anyone else?
Yeah it is a newsletter of a sort, but listed all the latest reviews and news items, just a click away, rather than being put into an e-mag they are just linked in a newsletter![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
That'll be an email newsletter then not what I was talking about really![39](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/39.gif)
I get an e-mag from here ever so often. It comes in the form of a email called "latest news from Road.cc"
I would post a link to the view in browser version, but it includes my personal email address, so i wont![19](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/19.gif)
