that looks like a non-trivial undertaking and probably beyond my reach at the moment. Best of luck though, looks like a good event.
Here you go: http://www.opencycling.com/coast-to-coast-in-a-day/
ah ok. Do you have a link to a map of the route? I was planning to do the whitehave to tynemouth ride again in June but a different route would be interesting. Alternatively might look at the way of the roses c2c further south.
This one isn't the traditional route, it heads from Seascale via Hardknott etc out to Kendal and the over the Dales and NY Moors to Whitby.
...another thing, I don't know if you've ridden the c2c before but some sections are unsurfaced and quite rough. Nothing too bad but I'd consider fitting the widest tyres you can, I used 28s and they were ok.
Ride up some long, steep hills. Repeat.
There are some hefty climbs en route, starting with whinlatter and ending at the beginning of the waskerly way, from then on its relatively plain sailing to the coast.
If you find out any gems let me know, I'm in training too. Not doing 140 miles a week yet mind.
