Tour De France 100th logo Question?

Just saw the 100th anniversary logo for the Tour De France, and am a bit perplexed by the fact the e has a gray overlay.
I cant see any pictorial reason, is this some kind of french accent? Or just a mistake?

Would love to know

Did anyone else think London's 2012 Olympic logo looked like an oral activity between two adults?

It's actually for 100 Es, as that is the new peleton drug of choice. Not exactly performance enhancing as such but it makes the finish line celebrations far more entertaining.

I wondered where Sagan got his celebration's from....and they won't be able to test him as Cav's wearing his 'a-sample'!!
