Stage 17

20 minutes to the deadline so not much harm in revealing my team

My team

Christopher Froome (SKY)
Mikel Nieve Ituralde (EUS)
Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas (MOV)
Roman Kreuziger (SAX)
Tony Martin (OPQ)
Murilo Antonio Fischer (FDJ)
Christophe Le Mevel (COF)
William Bonnet (FDJ)

Hoping that the 5 above me haven't gone with Martin and he wins today, I don't think he'll be out of the top 5 today anyway. Those climbs will suit a proper TT'er.

So-so for my team with Martin and Castroviejo not doing well. De Gendt 19th.

Schleck 15th!!

Kreuziger would have been the best pick today.

Awesome stage - great win for Froome!

Mollema came back well at the end.

Monfort the best of the sub-15-credit riders in 12th.

The Spaniards look primed for the Alps...

1,6,11,12,19 for me - happy with my transfers considering my other options involved Tony Martin. Talansky with a nice 9th place for my purists, but there are a few teams with Quintana that will be surging past me soon...

Martin 32nd
Nieve 38th
Rolland 139th
Castroviejo 168th (team orders - damn you Movistar)
Bonnet last. Yes!

Glad I picked Monfort over De Gendt as my cheap Belgian - 7 points gained there!

Also had Péraud in my team though, zero points there obviously but I feel so bad for the guy... crashing that hard on the side where you already have a suspected broken collarbone and bashed up elbow... it's sickening to think about really.

Back on fantasy matters... poor day for me, dropped back out of the top 100. Mollema was not a good pick, should have gone Quintana or Kreuziger.

My Purist team though had a great day jumping 85 places up to 79th. Now just 164 points of the lead 4 Need Gadret now to get into the break on Alp d'Huez (has a chance now Peraud is out), for Quintana to have a flyer a Cavendish and Kittel to 1-2 on the final stage and I might stand a chance of moving right up. Coppel doing something else also wouldn't hurt.

18th, 19th and 20th don't seem to have been given any points - just so's ya know...

Have you ever had 15 joint winners of a stage?

There were 2 categorised climbs today. Do these count for fantasy points?

le tour has points up for the climb, looks like they're all going to Contador, Froome, Rodriguez and Valverde.

Yes, Froome has so far won two mountain top finishes and come second on a flat time trial, only behind the current world champion, but today he's really overdone. How much gall does Froome have to so brasenly beat some of the best climbers in the world by an astonishing and totally unbelievable ... 9 seconds.

Yes it is, but I don't think you mean the same thing as I do.

Mollema hits the barrier! That's why froome was taking it easy. Want Froome to beat Contador.

Raining now and Froome taking it easy. Not good for the stage win.

Contador first!

Got Froome Quintana De Gendt. Seems Martin and Castroviejo were a waste but the rain affected their ride I believe. Should have gone GC instead. Still got 5 transfers for tomorrow though.

Looks like Quintana going to beat Kwia now he's the leader. And he does. Should have ridden like that the first time. Then he'd be challenging Froome. Stupid Movistar!

Peraud very unlucky. Was thinking about him as well.

Kreuziger now 2nd.

Holy...?!

Schleck currently sitting third at the end of the stage. Was not expecting that!

Kind of wish I'd kept him in now after the weekend, wonder if he'll try for a stage win later in the week...

Peraud is racing despite injuring himself this morning.

Also, Schleck is faster than TJVG at the first check...

the côte de Puy-Sanières (6.5km) and the côte de Réallon (30km): these are both category-two ascents carrying 5, 3, 2 and 1 points for the fastest four up them in the TT

darn it!!!!

but actually much better for the race, last thing we want is half a dozen GC riders going over like skittles in the descent
