Vuelta - pick three Spaniards

DEADLINE PASSED! Good luck all.

Rules fer reference, like:

1 - Pick three riders from the startlist who are Spanish and ensure that your three riders cost a combined 50 Space Creds or less.
2 - Only riders finishing the race count towards your points total. If one of your riders abandons mid-race (even during the last stage) then their points won't count towards your total.
3 - There are no restrictions on picking more than one rider from a particular team, if you want to pick three riders from Caja Rural feel free.
4 - Highest combined total wins, if one or more players get the same combined score then the winner will be chosen by a coin toss/random number generator or similar impartial method
5 - Deadline for entries was 17:30 (BST) Saturday 24 August 2013.

Spanish riders can easily be found by searching with ESP (not extra-sensory perception, but those actual letters in the 'Find' box).

Feel free to discuss riders/combinations etc but please try and make your submissions final where possible. The rosters will likely change a bit between now and the start of the race so don't jump the gun when submitting your team!

Dani Moreno's 251 has given a few teams a distinct advantage but Valverde is close behind on 210. Those of us picking Rodriguez are lagging behind a little with just 131 from him.

So far though, only the big hitters have really scored well and all the low value riders are still waiting to get on the books. Txurruka in particular has been quiet so it could well all change before the next rest day.

Robbed! Urtasun's 16pts from stage 3 need adding to my score please, and Arroyo's 6 points from the last couple of days. Could make all the difference (ie - no difference at all)...

Aye, but the problem is that Moreno now looks like he's going to go back to being support for Rodriguez so you who have Moreno may be ahead but might not stay there for long 4

Moreno could push for the KoM but it all depends on what Katusha's plan is. If Rodriguez is going for the overall I suspect Moreno will act as support rather be allowed to go after his own goals.

I'm really surprised S Sanchez and Nieve have not tried to push for higher placings on stages. I'm not talking about the gc just the stages in general.

Its their home grand tour after all.

That's part of the reason I like the format of this game, right up until he last stage ends everything can change. If Moreno drops out on the final stage to rest up for the Worlds then his points are gone and the leader board totally changes.
