Newport Velodrome eating facilities

Our club has a large group of kids (riding) and parents (watching) going to the velodrome Sunday afternoon. Could anyone let us know what eating facilities are there please? Is there a proper cafe, good coffee etc? We're there all afternoon with a long coach trip home, so some may be looking for more than just vending machine snacks. Many thanks.

There's a cafe of sorts in the sports hall next door but only vending machines in the veldrome. Both times I took my own food and drink so I didn't have to leave the building during the session.

And take layers to wear in between each group's turn on the boards, it's cool in there when you're not riding.

As djgorey says, there's a big Tesco not far away.

Hi

I live in Newport and have been to the velodrome a few times (although not for cycling!). I may be wrong, but I don't recall there being any eating facilities more than vending machines. I am prepared to be corrected, but nothing comes to mind.

However, as you go down the A48 Southern Distributor Road from the M4, you'll go past a big retail estate with a big Tescos and lots of other shops from where you could buy a decent picnic.

Hope this helps
