The last time I ignore enriques tips
Quaade
Pinotti out on the road now... I swear I read 2 days ago he was a definite non-starter!
Course is longer than UCI regs? Keeping to the rules doesn't seem to be their strong point.
Sanchez Gil 4th
Gretsch 6th
Konovolas 3rd at the moment.
Mino misses out by 1 second. ****!
And mino beats Nasser by 1.19s
Rohan Dennis fastest at the first check.
Mihaylov currently fastest (of 2) at the finish but Siutsou, Saramotins, Tvetcov Oliveira and Bodnar all going well.
EDIT: Woohoo! Konovalovas fastest at the finish with a storming final split.
EDIT 2: Sorry Wig_Billy, Mino is beated at the final hurdle and finishes second to last a whole twelve tenths of a second faster than Nazir Jaser.
Martin
Wiggins
Cancellara
Phinney
Kirienka
Bagdonas
Konovolas
Zoidl
Quaade
Relying on Cancellara to do well.
1,2,3,4,5,6... impressive!
Picked up Quaade as a tip on here!!
Was going to have the others. Zoidl and Konovolas did ok as well.
Might be a stage win and first time I've got the top 6.
Pity I forgot about the TTT now.
193 points.
Here's the official timing site (it's crap )
http://static.sportresult.com/federations/uci/CR2013/
If anyone can link to a better site or live text then please do. So far it seems that the two Ugandans have dropped out so if you have Herbert Mugwanya or Rogers Balikudembe then you're out of luck.
bang goes my plan
Standard
Martin
Wiggins
Cancellara
Phinney
Pinotti
Barta
Balikudembe
Mino
Mugwanya
Purist
Martin
Wiggins
Cancellara
Phinney
Malori
Quaade
Balikudembe
Mino
Mugwanya
Balikudembe/Mino/Mugwanya were an attempt to get last man home, but I've just seen that the two Ugandan's DNS so I'm relying Mino now.
Unlucky on your Ugandans but Mino is currently sitting pretty in last place, even slower than the Syrian riding a road bike (Nazir Jaser).
E' uno schifo !!!!
E' da ieri che provo a mettere la squadra e non funziona niente ....stranamente quando sono primo .....
o mi dice che sono over budget o non mi lascia togliere i ciclisti ...vergogna
io avrei voluto mettere :
Wiggins
martin
cancellara
phinney
pokala
krilienko
bagdonas
konovalovas
joeaar
Both teams the same, because didnt have long to choose teams,
Martin
Wiggins
Kiryienka
Malori
Zoidl
Phinney
Grabsch
Quaade
Rasmussen
This is my team for the TT today. I've made that many changes over the last couple of days i have no idea how they are going to go. Went for Quaade and Zoidl purely because they were 3 credits not because i knew of them.
Jesse Sergent
Bradley Wiggins
Tony Martin
Rohan Dennis
Tobias Ludvigsson
Riccardo Zoidl
Taylor Phinney
Rasmus Christian Quaade
Gustav Larsson
Here are my teams, edging my bets, one is with Cancellara, one is without.
Standard -
Martin
Wiggins
Cancellara
Phinney
Jungels
Barta
Quaade
Zoidl
Konovalovas
Purist (which is currently 6 pts ahead of my standard) -
Martin
Wiggins
Phinney
Dennis
Malori
Jungels
Quaade
Zoidl
Konovalovas
If Cancellara struggles then I can see Malori and Dennis moving up into the top 5 (fingers crossed) but if Cancellara goes all out I should have the top four in my standard team.
I think Quaade and Zoidl will be common cheap picks but I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Konovalovas, at three credits he's Lithuanian champion and was doing well in WT level TTs last year before dropping down a level, I reckon he'll be targetting this race and will want to put in a good ride.
I reckon I stand a chance of getting a full house on each of my teams
Anyone wanting a bit of background on Rasmus Quaade, seeing as he is a good punt for 3 credits, should see the biographical movie Moon Rider.
My teams:
Germany
Switzerland
Great Britain
Belarus
Kazakhstan
Czech Republic
Switzerland
Sweden
Austria
Germany
Great Britain
Great Britain
United States
Belarus
Czech Republic
Sweden
Austria
Denmark
It could be an interesting race. A lot of guys whose sole focus has been this race, and then people like Spartacus where we have no idea what his intentions are!
Official start list (including times) can be found here:
http://www.uci.ch/Modules/BUILTIN/getObject.asp?MenuId=MTY5MjQ&ObjTypeCo...
This is why we update once official sources release their info, otherwise I'd have wrongly removed Lutsenko from the start list and no doubt confused a load of people.
Every player has the ability to check start lists independently and should do.
Has Luke Durbridge pulled out? - he's on the startlist that I have seen but not in the available riders
even without spartacus finding this a struggle
Only 79 riders on the official start list. Think we have a few that need to be deleted from the game.
Yeah, I checked the game and the CyclingNews startlist and I think these guys have to be removed:
Alexandr Pliuschin IAM Cycling
Alexey Lutsenko Astana
Aliaksandr Kuschynski Katusha
Anass Ait El Abdia World Champs
Andrei Krasilnikau World Champs
Andrey Zeits Astana
Andriy Grivko Astana
Danail Andonov Petrov Caja Rural- Seguros RGA
Evaldas Siskevicius Sojasun
Ferekalsi Debesay Abrha MTN - Qhubeka
Gabor Fejes World Champs
Janez Brajkovic Astana
Jani Tewelde Weldegabir MTN - Qhubeka
Magkoyras Neofytos Sakellaridis World Champs
Peter Sagan Cannondale
Ramunas Navardauskas Garmin Sharp
Redi Halilaj World Champs
Rein Taaramae Cofidis, Solutions Credits
Robert Vrecer Euskaltel-Euskadi
Roman Kreuziger Team Saxo - Tinkoff
Sergiu Cioban World Champs
Simon Spilak Katusha
Soufiane Haddi World Champs
Svein Tuft Orica Greenedge
Sylvain Georges AG2R La Mondiale
And these guys have to be added:
Elchin Asadov (Azerbaijan)
Leandro Messineo (Argentina)
Tiago Machado (Portugal)
And Rafael Infantino Abreu (Colombia) appears in the game as Infantino Abreu (World Champs). His first name is Rafael.
This is why we encourage people to check startlists themselves rather than rely on the game to be 100% up to date at all times. I'll be running a final round of changes at some point this afternoon based on the official startlist.
Australia currently have Porte and Dennis as their listed riders, not sure Durbridge was ever picked.
I have at least one 3 credit rider who I think will top 20
*quietly changes 3.0 selection to Quaade*
Or perhaps not... I've a couple of other guys in the bottom price range I suspect will be worth a punt! Not revealing any nationalities here either.
On the Cancellara thing, I'm genuinely torn. Even if this isn't his primary focus, the fact that he's riding it at all surely means he'll be taking it semi-seriously? I'm mean, he'll at least place well, right?
Also, going to say right now that I think Wiggins will take it over Martin or anyone else. Road race is anyone's guess, though.
There are a few decent choices at 3 credits, I've got three possible top 20s at 3 credits in one of my teams.
Ditto on Cancellara, I can't see him riding unless he's going to put a proper effort it and, if he rides hard, he must be almost guaranteed top 5.
I think Martin will be hard to beat but Wiggins has the best chance and I think it could go either way.
