Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

Drink-driver starts the weekend early by crashing into tree at 4pm on Friday afternoon in Market Drayton. wink

https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/crime/2023/03/25/man-arrested-on-sus...

Perhaps he was trying to emulate the driver of a black Wankpanzer that flipped near Much Wenlock around 6pm on Thursday.

https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/local-hubs/bridgnorth/much-wenlock/2...

This was just 2 hours after a black Mazda soft-top sports car (i.e. a hairdresser's car) hit a bridge a short distance away on the same road.

https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/local-hubs/south-shropshire/2023/03/...

Street view of the scene of the Mazda crash - 30 mph, straight through a crossroads. Maybe the driver had swerved to avoid something (or perhaps I'm giving them too much credit).

When I see stories like this I rejoice that E bikes are limited to 15.5 mph and the marvellous protection afforded to me by helmets and hi viz.

4,000 - 4,000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire was the answer we were looking for. So it's a rollover for our two tickets to the Diddley Squat farm shop/ not at all a theme park.

Visitors have the choice from our collection of farm experiences of receiving a death threat or being punched by the man himself.

Apparently the car "left the road" mysteriously and somehow got itself stuck.  Luckily a "young adult male" was able to be rescued...

More at Somerset live.

Clearly an "accessibility" issue - if they'd have made the stairs wider the car would no doubt have freed itself...

Shocking - no mention of whether the hotel had daytime lights on.

Why would reducing parking lessen the chances of a drink/drug driver being able to destroy a home?

Surely the parking of vehicles will act as a buffer to crashing and also act to slow some drivists.

You can't  have a speed of -80mph, it would be a velocity of -80mph
