Cycle Clinic closing down

Malcolm Borg is shutting down his shop/online site for good.

I had planned to buy a set of wheels from him in the coming weeks, so need to look elsewhere. Any suggestions for a good set of road wheels?

Wheelsmith has always been very good for me. Malcolm was always very opinionated so I got bored with him telling me I should be riding tubeless, etc., when I simply wanted what I wanted.

A shame to see a long standing name from the custom wheel building community fall victim to the industries woes.

Not intended as a shameless plug, but if anyone is reading this article looking for a new wheel builder, please feel free to reach out to Pura Velo.

Ryan Builds Wheels and DCR would I'm sure also love to build you something specific to your needs.

That is a pity, Malcolm had a great reputation and spent a lot of time posting his no-nonsense advice gained over many years on Bikeradar.

If you want handbuilts then I have heard good things about Mark Pollard in Devon, I think he trades as Spokesman wheels.

That's a shame. He seemed like a decent guy and he had a good no-fuss website. Bought a few things from him over the years and he was contactable if you needed guidance.

Difficult to say without knowing your budget or intended use but I did happen to notice yesterday that Sigma Sports have some substantial reductions on some very nice wheelsets at the moment:
