Phew! I thought you were linking to this for a moment:
"Sunderland man captured seagull and masturbated over it before telling cops he was trying to call a vet"
https://twitter.com/LBC/status/1651156803407757312?s=20
My parents-in-law live there, I wouldn't be greatly surprised if it did top the charts for offending drivers; it certainly has the greatest number of recklessly driven BMWs, Audis and Mercs, usually with illegal tints and gut-busting sound systems. Definitely my least favourite place to cycle in London.
Do you know the way to Innisfree?
no but if you hum it, I'll play it
Possibly depends on which bit of CR0 you mean - it's a big postcode area which covers very different bits of Croydon
Fair point, they live almost in the centre, off Park Lane, it's a racetrack there. It's about 12 km from us on the most direct route, we tend to ride around 16/17 km to avoid the worst of it.
Yeah, around the centre is horrible.
Origins of this idea? The pre-watershed Kenny Everett Video Casstte was right up my early teenage alley.

I'm certainly thinking more about why the vets is next to the butchers
Excellent! Originally I was trying to remember another skit (can't even remember who did it) which had a segment with someone trying to get their piano driving licence round the streets...
I've got Ian Dury stuck in my head now though! "He's got his little garage and he's got his little car and he wants a bit of Wembley up his Khyber Pass"
"Mr Chinnery"
Sorry Essex folk, you must get that a lot
All the way to Lands End Sir?
that's right, officer what of it?
I don't like your tune, sonny
Edit: kindly accompany me to the station
It beggars belief that this collection of grifters and nut jobs are given air time - I'm old enough to remember this as a flagship investigative journalism programme.
Good evening, I'm from Essex
In case you couldn't tell
My given name is Dickie
I come from Billericay
And I'm doing very well - or at least up 'til now
Always time for a chat.
Wing Mirrors !
https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/south-london-street-lit...
"A road in South London has been blighted with 'at least 20 smashed wing mirrors' after a 'botched' batch of new bollards led scores of drivers to misjudge the narrow gap."

The driver of this Focus failed to stop for Police in Salford this evening. He ran off with the car keys and his drugs but fortunately for us, he left his mum, who wasn't to impressed, in the car for us to talk to! Vehicle seized. #Driveinsured

Long bows !
"If you read the challenge, you would note the older child has archery. Have you ever tried to carry a longbow on a bus? Will the school allow the teenager to bring a weapon to school? An archer can string, knock and loose an arrow in minutes. #getreal"

Well, they're probably a bit short of cash after paying out £1m for the car.

Neighbours strike back by 'throwing rubbish back in cars' of people littering street
People say that parking and litter are causing problems in the neighbourhood - Manchester, which is nearly Wales. Photo.
Neighbour Sheena Pilkington also recounts a similar interaction. She said: “There was a woman in a white Range Rover who parked up on a grass verge, and was eating her fast food before throwing the litter outside. I spoke to her and said it’s not acceptable to do it in other people’s areas' and she gave me a ton of verbal abuse.
“I caught her on a second occasion again, and asked ‘would you do this where you live?’, and afterwards she began shouting so I threw the rubbish back in her window.”
Having lived on the street for 43 years, Sheena has watched the increasing "mudslide" outside her home where drivers have "created such a deep impact" onto the grass verges that it looks like "great big tractors have been down there".

It's amazing what people will put on Twitter:
I fell down a Twitter rabbit hole with this thread responding to a cyclist talking about driving in a 20mph area:
https://twitter.com/trevor_hutton/status/1643898732235063297?s=20
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can overtake and break the speed limit temporarily if safe to do so, how do you know you were doing 20mph?, the driver has a speedometer, legally he can do 23mph 20mph+10% plus 1 in the Met Police area?
Then there is Babar who is convinced that the HWC tells you that you have an obligation to pull up and get out of the way to allow faster drivers to overtake even if they are breaking the law to do so. - in the context of the original tweet bemaoning being harrassed for driving at the 20mph limit.
Then there is Mark who is a journalist who claims to be a critical thinker who claims that: "You have a cheek criticising me over critical thinking. The roads are safe, accident levels low and everyday millions of drivers prove you wrong." as he was claiming that 20mph limits will cause more accidents than they will save,
The bike lane came out of nowhere!
