Spring Classics

Comp is now open. 80 transfers for 16 races.

A lot of races aren't anouncing routes or releasing profiles to limit potential spectators, so be aware, some of this info will be last minute and not as complete as normal. Only quick fire races are this weekend, so don't forget about Kuurne after Omloop.

If you're new please join in and if you have questions pop them below and the forum regulars will answer as best we can.

Start list for Schelderprijs is still a bit pants, but I'll update anyway. Keep an eye out for more changes.

Oh man...! I updated my team at around 6pm last night, looked at my emails this morning to see there had been changes, but am now too late to change my team...I have one rider in my team...🙁

I forgot to change mine last night, only have Senechal in mine.

I think the clocks going forward has messed with deadlines a wee bit, so I'll edit for the next races to make sure they're right.

question re: cancelled spring classics, are they cancelled entirely for fantasy or will we do them at rescheduled date (assuming they go ahead)?

We'll stick them in with the Autumn Classics. Not sure what's happening with Frankfurt, but that works for PR.

What does everyone think?

Seems sensible to put P-R & E-Frankfurt in autumn races rather than having the Spring series left hanging on into October. Frankfurt is scheduled for 19th September according to UCI calendar.

personally prefer them to go in the autumn list.

That was an outstanding race. Really was survival of the fittest in the end and Asgreen lasted the longest.

I think my love affair with Alaphilippe is now over. Quite pleased I gave a top ten betting tip to somebody for Vermeersch. Not that I picked him in my team.

I seriously considered Vermeersch as well. If he had been 5 mill or less would probably have got him in over Pidcock but 11 mill was too much. Had two possible combinations to finish my team for today, one with Alaphilippe & Laporte the other with Asgreen & Turgis. Luckily went with the second one!

Laporte sold himself short at the end. I assume he went too early like MVDP did, so perhaps that finish was deceptive. Great race.

He was on my radar too, but too expansive. Better day with 4 of the top 5 and 6 of the too 10 First decent one day race for me in a long time.

Same here, 7 in top 10 has got me back on track. Would love to say it was skill, but I was very close to having Alaphilippe instead of Asgreen and would have had Kristoff if I could have afforded him..... so much luck involved.

6 in the top 11 for me. Decent enough but just not the right 6.

Matthews and Sagan doing an outstanding job of keeping invisible just off the front. Good riding.

Outstanding use of a transfer. Laporte > Van Baarle. Pffft.

At least it wasn't the other way round! Was thinking I'd done OK there with Van Baarle (who has been good value last 3 races) coming in nicely but then spotted a lot of people had brought him in for today & had either Merlier or Laporte embedded from Gent-Wevelgem (or even both...I'm looking at you ToraToraTora!)

Lol  Came so close to ditching Laporte last night. Goes to show sometimes you can't beat a nice slice of luck, with an added spoonful of jam.

well that was a disaster, these one days races are great to watch but I just can't pick them, bring on the grand tours!

Only just over a month to wait!

One day races are always such pot luck. I need to not think about it too much and just pick whoever for a laugh.

I completely agree. It's pick whoever is riding from WvA and MvdP then shuffle a big pack of riders over 75kg to fill the remaining places for me! On the other hand, you can really get stuck into a grand tour (though I'll be bemoaning my luck in those when my carefully crafted plan inevitably goes wrong! )
