Muc-Off partners with Team Sky for 2014 + video

Muc-Off has this week confirmed it will be partnering with Team Sky in 2014 as Official Supplier of Bike Care Products. The company will supply its extensive range of cleaning and bike care products, as well as developing new products for the team

It’s a big first step into the pro peloton for the Dorset-based company and is far and away its highest profile sponsorship deal to date, having previously worked with Rapha-Condor JLT and Wiggle-Honda Pro Cycling. And like Rapha, is another British brand added to Team Sky’s list of sponsors. The company is synonymous for the pink bike cleaner that it first launched back in 1994, but it has since expanded its range of products to cover every aspect of bike cleaning and maintenance. It has also started to develop a line of off-the-bike care products like Dry Shower and Shower Scrub.

The partnership will see the company working closely with the team and we expect to see the evolution of existing products and possible development of new products. “Keeping our equipment clean and well maintained is an integral part of bike racing and, as with all of our suppliers, we will work closely with them to help develop their range in the future,” added Team Sky’s Head of Technical Operations, Carsten Jeppesen.

It has been revealed the Muc-Off research and development team have been busy working on a new C4 wax treatment for the team ahead of the first race of the season, which it claims will “increase efficiency and save precious watts.” It’s all about marginal gains remember.
