dhb launch Goldline summer clothing range

dhb have garnered a very good reputation for well designed and affordable cycle clothing, and the launch of Goldline sees them offering a high-end premium range for the first time. We had a preview of dhb’s summer range earlier this year, and with Goldline now available to buy at wiggle, here are a few more details.

The Goldline range has been developed in collaboration with the Wiggle Hondo Pro Cycling team, and is the same clothing they race in. It’s the result of two years of development and feedback, explains dhb’s Christina Lindquist.

“Over the past two years, Commonwealth Games Silver medallist Rochelle Gilmore and the Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling riders have been in on-going collaboration with the dhb design team to produce a full range of high performance, technical products suitable for the demands of professional racing, as well as a stylish and casual ‘off the bike’ range, which are worn by the Wiggle Honda team and staff throughout the season.”

At the moment the range includes just bib shorts and a jersey for both men and women. The Goldline jersey (£66) is constructed from a mix of five Italian fabrics with a claimed weight of just 133g, so it’s clear lightness and low bulk has been a key aim. There are vented mesh panels along the back panel and under the arms, and the seams are bonded at the back with seamless mesh arm cuffs.

The Goldline bib shorts (£85) get a CyTech Elastic Interface Comp HP chamois, the highest grade insert dhb have ever offered. They claim it’s good for six hours or more in the saddle. Ideal for summer sportives then. The shorts themselves are made with Antigua stretch mesh panelling along the centre back for increase cooling with a seamless stretch mesh panel lining the leg hem to reduce friction.

The team have been putting the Goldline clothing through its paces, and they seem impressed. "The dhb Goldline kit has lightweight fabric which feels great to wear especially when you’re hot,” says Jess Mundy, who represented dhb at Australia’s Mitchelton Bay Crits in January alongside Wiggle Honda. “It keeps you feeling cool as the air flows through the fabric. Overall I felt very comfortable wearing the dhb Goldline kit.”

dhb now organise most of their clothing into their Active, Performance and Professional lineups. The Active clothing is the most accessible in terms of price while the Professional clothing is for those who make higher demands: slimmer cuts, more technical fabrics, and so on.
