#mycyclingweekend - Bike beds under the stairs & on the wall

If your bike could talk, what would it have to say about sleeping under the stairs? Would it prefer to be displayed on the living room wall?

No matter where you live, your bike's gotta live with you. As you make your way through this #mycyclingweekend piece, though, you'll see that you lot have very different definitions of living.

We won't judge you too harshly, because as you saw from Friday's pre-#mycyclingweekend piece, we are hardly the standard bearers for luxury bike storage. However, quite a number of you who decided to participate in this #mycyclingweekend have put the rest of us to shame.

We reckon that all of our bikes, including our editor Tony's, would have quite a lot to say about their home lives if they had vocal chords instead of brake cables. Would Tony's custom-built Charge agree that this under-stairs cupboard is cosy? I guess we'll never know.

Those of us who have to juggle a mechanical romance alongside our flesh and blood relationships know all too well how difficult accommodating both a human being and a bicycle in the same house can be.

However, it comes as a mystery to us here at road.cc how so many of you are able to endow your walls with whatever mechanical masterpieces you please.

While we're in awe of Steve Hills's perfectly mounted bike, we're slightly hopeful that the perfection with which his wheels are lined up is for photographic purposes rather than some obsession. So, for having such a beautifully mounted bike, and for getting your partner's permission to hang it in your bedroom, Steve, you're this week's #mycyclingweekend winner.

And those of you have managed to strike a balance between the living and mechanical members of your family, but haven't yet managed to integrate your bikes into your living spaces, have still managed to devote entire rooms to your bikes.

Even when there are loads of them.

Do you keep your bike anywhere more impressive? How about a little more embarrassing? What would your bike say if those brake cables were vocal chords? Let us know in the comments section, or send us a photo on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter - just remember to attach the #mycyclingweekend hashtag.

It turns out that not all of you spent your #mycyclingweekend looking at your bikes. Some of you actually went out for a ride.

Here are a few of our other favourite photos of the week:

Walls newly plastered and 1st lick of paint
Still nowhere to store bikes except here, at least the Giant is the wife's so she understands. Fear the shed option due to past losses of bikes
Oliver snuck in to the pic, will he bring good fortune?

Current Bikecave...

(bit better than it used to be... this is in mid-refurb, prior to moving wiring around, full-replaster of all the walls, new flooring, and adding much more storage.)
