Why are you riding this #mycyclingweekend?

You'll all be pleased to know that the cold snap appears to be holding off. We've got another weekend of mid-teen mild temperatures to take advantage of and we want to know why you're riding this weekend.

From the photos you've sent us during the week we can tell that some of you are already bagging out on the weather. Frankly, we think such early retreat is inexcusable - even if you have a pleasant virtual world to shelter in.

Winter hasn't even arrived yet, so you better get riding, and tell us why you're doing it!

Sure, it's not going to be easy all the time. Not only have you got our weather to worry about, you've also got the demoralising knowledge that in some parts of the world spring is springing, and thanks to the internet you've got front row seats.

Those of us stuck in the UK will not only be grabbing every ray of remaining sunshine in 2015, we'll be steeling ourselves for a winter of cycling punishment, and watching with great jealousy at the rest of the world's months of sunny cycling. Sigh.

We know that it'll take a little bit more motivation to get into the saddle over the next couple of months. So, let's focus on why we're riding.

Turbo trainers and Zwift computer games are a poor substitution for the real thing. Freezing air flowing through our helmets and over our handlebars is better than no air flowing, right?

So, tell us why you're clipping in this weekend. You won't be battling with the elements, at least that's what the weathermen are telling us, so there'll be no excuses - only reasons.

Send us a photo on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, with a little bit of an explanation about your ride and the #mycyclingweekend hashtag and we'll choose our favourites on Monday.
