BBC R4 asks whether a Brit can really win the Tour de France

Jim White looks at how TeamSky is taking on the challenge of getting Brad on that podium

A BBC Radio 4 programme today looked at the efforts going into securing the first British winner of the Tour de France.

Writer and broadcaster Jim White spoke to Dave Brailsford and other members of TeamSky as they prepared for this year’s Giro D’Italia about the challenge of getting Bradley Wiggins onto that podium on 25 July.

The programme is available on the BBC iPlayer now.

Plenty of riders and staff linked off the TeamSky twitter page.

Listened to the programme on iPlayer. Was pretty good. I didn't realize that Dave Brailsford had spent 3 years trying to make it as a pro in Europe.

Wiggins stopping tweeting is probably more to do with the Sky PR machine wanting to control everything that comes out of the team… or maybe he just doesn't have anything to say any more.

Yes, he's stopped tweeting. It stopped when Cycling Weekly started publishing a "tweets of the week" column, which may or may not be coincidental.

I like the photo. It's like when the Roadrunner stops with a "twang".

Wonder how this interview would have been different after Wiggos performance (not so good) in the giro and the revelations from Landis and the motorised bikes....

Wiggo has gone very quiet lately and would like to know why?
