Valbrona, you have my sincerest apologies for calling you a racist. You crack on shoehorning your fear and hatred into posts. It marks you out as exactly the same as the terrorists that you should be identifying as the bad uns, you don't have the brains to recognise that Muslims are not the bad guys, it's terrorists and they come in all sorts of colours, nationalities, religions and races. By trying to turn everything into Muslim bashing makes you no better than the terrorists, indescriminate in you hatred towards everyone of a certain religion.
I image you hate the Welsh for Meibion Glyndwr, the Irish for the IRA, or is it the UDA, the Spanish for ETA, Germans for Baader Meinhof, etc, etc.
You stop posting you're hatred and I'll stop calling you out for being a racist. How does that sound? I don't believe in banning you as not only do we have free speech, but people need to see you for what you are.
Merry Christmas.

You do realise Islam isn't a race?
You do realise that "black" isn't a race? You do realise that "white" isn't a race?
Racism can be a discrimination on others based on culture as well as outward appearance, see link:

Hate is hate, whatever you call it.
Disc brakes are better than rim brakes as long as they are hydraulic. They are also nicer to use and easier for small hands, and require less force to apply. Cyclists doing u turns that cause crashes should be punished. Badly behaved cyclists are a problem for everyone, and it is easy to see the bad attitudes displayed by the 'Yorkshireman' who post on here.
Presumably this will mean that London Taxis who do sudden u-turns and cause cyclists to hit them will also be punished.
Yeah, kidding.
Black cabs are a law into themselves.
Only by hitting them in the pocket e.g. Uber do they change.
Confusing having two stories in one here, one new and one old.
Couldn't she say the sun was in her eyes?
I sold my bike with Ultegra calliper brakes as they were terrible in the wet on fast descents. Hydraulic disc brakes are like night and day in comparison, excellent braking in all conditions. I suspect callipers tested in the dry confines of the police station may well appear ok, put them on a wet descent and the story will be much different.
Disc brakes are amazing aren’t they! I spent 30 odd years of road cycling hurtling off cliffs and having head on collisions will all manner of walls/vehicles/livestock. I was never out of A&E. They even named a ward after me. Thankfully now that I’ve got a bike with discs I’ve given the NHS a well needed break (excuse the pun). Best cycling innovation ever!
God bless disc brakes and all who modulate with them!
Post of the week !
Sounds like a set-up/pads issue - I've never had any problem with my 105/Ultegra callipers, including down some pretty big descents in the wet in the Alps.
I generally consider you will run out of grip on the road long before you run out of brakes.
And that comes after many, many years of hydraulic disc brakes on my mountain bike.
Perhaps you should read the article which you are commenting under. This has nothing to do with brakes and the case of the lady who died a few years back was merely commented on because of the location.
No, perhaps you should better understand which person/incident I am referring to.
Read the headline.
"Cyclist fined for crash after doing U-turn at the top of Winnats Pass"
What does it say?
Nope, still nothing about brakes.
If you want to comment about the lady who died when her brakes may or may not have failed then do so under the article
http://road.cc/content/news/232524-cyclist-screamed-%E2%80%9Cmy-brakes-h...
But you'll probably want to read all the comments already made because pretty much every possible scenario has already been hammered out and it's all pretty old having people blathering on about caliper brakes being lethal and disc brakes being the only solution, despite the fact that in some of the articles related to the story the bike in question did have disc brakes. Making your comment about caliper brakes being the cause of this lady's unfortunate accident totally redundant
Who said it was wet ?
Who said she was on calipers ?
Personally I've been using calipers for 35 years plus now and haven't had any issues. I'm in no rush to change to discs. Yours must have been a set up problem ?
Compulsory hi-viz for motorcyclists!
Yes, and they should have their own dedicated motorcycle lanes and be forced to use them.
