Today's entry in our Near Miss of the Day feature shows the moment a van driver in Essex made a close pass on a cyclist in Essex while leaning on the horn and giving the rider some verbal abuse as he passed him.
The rider, road.cc reader Ian, told us that it took place at Epping Upland, around two miles from Epping in Essex, just after a right-hand turn down a hill.
He said: "As you can see the car [preceding the van] gives me plenty of space and I am not that far out into the road so I have no idea why he decided to beep me.
"The window was down as he pulled alongside me and some of the shouting is me telling him I have just as much right to be on the road as him!
"After passing you can see there is a very close call with a car coming round the bend from the other direction as well," he added.
Over the years road.cc has reported on literally hundreds of close passes and near misses involving badly driven vehicles from every corner of the country – so many, in fact, that we’ve decided to turn the phenomenon into a regular feature on the site. One day hopefully we will run out of close passes and near misses to report on, but until that happy day arrives, Near Miss of the Day will keep rolling on.
If you’ve caught on camera a close encounter of the uncomfortable kind with another road user that you’d like to share with the wider cycling community please send it to us at info [at] road.cc or send us a message via the road.cc Facebook page.
If the video is on YouTube, please send us a link, if not we can add any footage you supply to our YouTube channel as an unlisted video (so it won't show up on searches).
Please also let us know whether you contacted the police and if so what their reaction was, as well as the reaction of the vehicle operator if it was a bus, lorry or van with company markings etc.

I'm getting bored with these; if the victims have not reported it to th epolice then it is irrelevant to me how close they the pass was.
So, maybe stop watching them rather than complain about your low boredom threshold?
I hope this has gone to the Police.
White Van, Essex. Need one say more?
Looks like he was moving a bit!
really needs a better sound recording
