Cotswold Classic route announced

Easter, a time of chocolate, bunnies, daffodils and… the Cotswold Spring Classic on Bank Holiday Monday, the 13th of April.

If you are after a gentle holiday ride this one isn't for you but if some serious chocolate burning action is on your Easter agenda this is definitely an event worth checking out. The route has just been announced and it looks like a corker.

Places are filling up fast but the organisers tell us there are still some left, and you can enter online. There's a choice of either 105 mile or 105 kilometre routes on the day and the split point will be clearly signed. And while we're sure the roll out from Stroud will have a few metres of flatness in it – that'll probably be yer lot.

Our man in the Cotwolds has had a gander at the route and highlighted these route highlights:

• Bubbs Hill (previously used as a club hill climb course – and a REAL wall!)
• Birdlip hill (the pub-to-pub ascent used in the Tour of Britain and Tour of the Cotswolds)
• Stroud valleys – not sure where to start with these, but there is no flat sections around there!!
• Stunning Cotswold countryside to start and end the ride, including Tetbury and the Cotswold Water Park.

The ride will be supported by National Escort Group of motorcycle outriders, local bike specialist Performance Cycles , SIS providing additional fuel for the riders and top cycling photographer Phil O’Connor will be on hand with his camera to snap you enjoying yourself. Oh, and we'll be there too…
