Vacansoleil-DCM get limited edition Bianchi for Giro

Mmmm! Isn’t it pretty? We’ll use any excuse to slap a pic of the Bianchi Oltre up on the Road.cc homepage. It is one of the most gorgeous race bikes out there (as defined by us, obviously; and we’re right). Today, we actually have a good reason to feature it: Bianchi have provided the whole Vacansoleil-DCM team with a special edition Oltre for the Giro d’Italia, and this is it.

The finish is mostly Bianchi celeste, of course, but with Vacansoleil-DCM’s darker blue team colour on the extended seat tube and fork. Then there are some subtle pink details – pink, of course, being the colour of the Giro lead rider’s jersey and the official colour of the race.

The limited edition bike also displays a celebrative logo commemorating the 60th anniversary of Fausto Coppi winning both the Giro and the Tour de France in the same year – that’s 1952, if your maths isn’t all that. The logo features the Tour’s yellow jersey and the Giro’s pink one.

We’ve covered the technology behind the Oltre plenty in the past and that hasn’t altered. So yes, you’re absolutely right, it’s just a new paint job.

But, ooh, it is pretty!
