Ritchey Carbon C260 stem unveiled

SuperLogic range completed with launch of new carbon stem, available 2013

Ritchey's first ever all-carbon stem has been some time in development, but now it has been announced as a 2013 product so it will soon be available.

Completing Ritchey's SuperLogic range, the Carbon C260 is said to have been designed for the “needs of high wattage European classic specialists”, undoubtedly the hardest proving ground for any bicycle component.

Made from high-modulus carbon fibre the stem has a rounded square section profile. At the front the four bolts that hold the faceplate into position are angled and thread in from the stem side, a move that allows easier construction of the stem in this area.

The bar clamp contact area is also larger than the C260 Alloy stem on which this one is loosely based, to reduce the load on the four bolts. Three opposing bolts secure the stem to the steerer tube, which will spread the stress evenly.

Weight is 125g for a 110mm model, with lengths from 90 to 130mm available. No UK price yet, in Euros it's going to set you back €280.
