I'd have to question whether Barcelona's aim is being 'car unfriendly' per se or whether the car unfriendliness is an effect of (or equally a necessary step towards) become more people friendly? I have a feeling it's probably the latter.
I had this perfect dream
This dream was me and you
I want all the world to see
A miracle sensation
My guide and inspiration
Now my dream is slowly coming true
Wind is a gentle breeze
The bells are ringing out
They're calling us together
Wish my dream would never go away
Freddie knew.
Awesome - Barca is a beautiful city but it's so densely packed in the centre it will be greatly improved by banning private vehicles. The Eixample district is all square blocks so this works particularly well - might be harder with irregular street layouts.
