A woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving after a cyclist was injured when the driver of a car 'mounted the kerb'.
The rider, a 33-year-old male, fell from his bike and injured his hand after the motorist drove their grey Audi S5 onto the pavement.
The incident, which happened between 8.45pm and 9.05pm last Wednesday, took place on Paterson Road in Aylesbury.
It is believed that both the cyclist and Audi had previously been in Taylor Road, and then Verney Walk before arriving in Paterson Road.
Bucks Free Press report that the cyclist suffered a small cut to his hand as a result but did not require hospital treatment
A 29-year-old woman from Bicester has been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving. She has since been released on bail.
It was not clear from the police report whether the assault charge related to the driving of the vehicle.
Investigating officer, PC Holly Andrews, of Aylesbury police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, or anyone that may have information regarding it.
“The cyclist fell from his bike after the car reportedly mounted the kerb.
"Fortunately, he did not sustain injuries that required hospital treatment.
“We are aware that the victim went into a Sun Ray store on Paterson Road after the incident, and we also believe that there were two witnesses that saw what happened on the same road.
“I would appeal for these people to come forward if they can help."

It's a car, it doesn't matter if it's an Audi. The driver is a cockwomble, the car, regardless of brand does what the driver requests of it. I really wish the press would stop mentioning car brands when there is a crash, it appears they generally only mention brands when they are german or maybe flash italian brands. If it's a standard 'british' brand like ford or vauxhall it wouldn't get a mention, or not in the headline at least.
I do hope the driver loses her licence after using her car as a weapon. Also, I hope the cyclist has no permanent harm done to them.
And as the Police are appealing for witnesses, maybe the headline prompts the memory of seeing the car being driven eratically at other stages on the day, hence the full model type also being listed in this linked article.
But it's great that because it's an audi we can remember this chestnut: Audis in houses - https://aseasyasridingabike.wordpress.com/2015/12/26/audis-in-houses/
Strangely enough, I've just had to drive to Monmouth, and before I left my village, 30mph limit, I had an Audi zoom up behind me and I was doing 30, so he was exceeding the limit. He followed me for about a mile at the national speed limit, so I was doing between 40-50, and he was hugging my bumper. As we approached a local school, the limit switched back to 30 which I was doing, he floored it, passed me, braked hard and turned into the school. I know it's only a sample size of one, but all Audi drivers are plonkers.
does that mean it was a teacher?
Could have been the 'nit' nurse.
I thought teachers preferred to call themselves 'educators' now.
No.
i'm an educator - but then i'm in University...
Not heard that myself, doesn't seem likely. Not sure that it really matters if any actually do though.
customer facing grade enhancer
Don't joke, that is essentially what successive governments are turning them into.
I left (~15 years ago) due to impossible working conditions in what was becoming a shitty admin job with punishingly long hours, around which you might be able to fit some quality teaching if you were lucky. Have kept tabs through contact with old colleagues, and general news reports and this migration of the role has staggeringly continued.
I sold out. I wanted a life, and for my mental health to be intact. The ones who stay contrary to popular belief aren't the ones who can't hack life outside. They are there ones with more integrity than I who won't leave their pupils, regardless of the personal cost - after all, the kids have no choice at all.
I wasn't joking. When I retired 10 years ago I was teaching kids to pass exams, I was not teaching the subject any more. By the time I left, I felt the most worthwhile thing I was doing was being involved with the Duke of Edinburgh scheme which did teach the participants something very worth while and I continued to volunteer after I left the school. It was hard work but if you are doing something you think is valuable you don't mind so much.
As a teacher myself ... just, no.
I have seen teachers use it, but it tends to be used as a collective term for all those involved in educating students, including TAs, tutors, college and university lecturers, etc.
Having spoken with a neighbour who has a child at the school, it was probably the person who has a house on the same site, who is renowned for his excessive plonkerishness.
Potentially. When I was teaching some of my colleagues lived on site in a shared house. Cheap rent in exchange for helping locking up etc. This was an ordinary state school
The care takers also lived on site.
I would rather she loses her licence if it's proved that she used her car as a weapon. Innocent until proven guilty.
Except where they put people on remand, to protect society.
And they also tend to remove the weapon from someone sometime before the court case...
In my experience it does matter. Anecdotally I find I'm more likely to experience poor or dangerous driving from expensive cars such as Audis, Range Rovers, Lexuses (Lexi?) or cars held together with string and gaffer tape. Those in between generally seem to be capable of driving reasonably.
Again, anecdotally, my guess is that if you can afford a Range Rover, you can afford to get it repaired if, in the process of killing a cyclist, you dent it and if your car is already held together with gaffer tape, you can just add a bit more gaffer tape.
(Edit for grammar)
What was the brand of the bike? This must be more important than people getting run over buy an Audi.......give me stengh!
