What do Maserati and Cipollini have in common? Until today, nothing at all, but the two premium brands have collaborated on a one-off road bike for charity.
The Maserati Cipollini Bond road bike will be signed by Mario Cipollini and auctioned for charity at the Rouleur Classic cycle show today.
The Cipollini BOND bike, which would normally retail for £4,500, will be painted in a bespoke paint job, a Maserati blue and white along with Rouleur Classic and Maserati branding, including the Maserati trident in red on either side of the seat tube. If you’ve got a Maserati, then this is the perfect bike to go with your car.
The special bike will be a centrepiece of the Maserati Lounge at the Rouleur Classic show, which opened its doors yesterday in central London. The bike will be signed by Mario at the show and visitors will be invited to join a silent auction to win the bike, with money raised going to support Action Medical Research.
Alternatively you can bid for the bike at www.championsofcyclesport.com. The winner of the auction will be announced at the Champions of CycleSport Dinner on Thursday 26the November.
Of the collaboration, Peter Denton, Region Manager for Maserati Northern Europe comments, “When we started our Maserati Cycling initiative it was with the aim of enhancing the experience of the cycling community through our brand’s involvement in a series of unique and exciting cycling events.”
Mario Cipollini, owner of Cipollini bikes, commented: “To pair two such like-minded Italian brands was an opportunity not to miss, and the Rouleur Classic is the perfect place to show the bike and hopefully raise a lot of money for charity. The lucky winner will be the owner of a truly unique bike.”
The bike up for auction is a Bond and will be a size 54 and is specced with a Shimano Ultegra 6800 groupset with Fast Forward F2A wheels, Ritchey WCS components, Selle San Marco Aspide saddle and Challenge Forte tyres.

When I clicked on the link, I genuinely expected to see something truly beautiful. My god... That's a hideous lump of plastic.
Thank ffff for that, I thought I was the only one thinking it...
In my mind, nearly as disgusting as the Ferrari bicycle, at the end of the day, you are paying for brand merchandising.
How about some Maserati aftershave to go with?
Spose if that's your thing then fair enough!
