Bont release a heat-mouldable shoe for under £100

The Aussie cycling footwear experts have now brought their heat-mouldable tech down to an even more affordable price point, with a new version of the Riot shoe with a buckle available for £99

If you thought cycling shoes with a custom fit was something you have to pay through the nose for, think again... Bont's new Riot Buckle with a fully heat-mouldable chassis will go on sale for just £99, with plenty of trickle-down tech from their top end Vaypor road shoes.

We reviewed a previous version of the Riot back in 2013, and as far as we can see the new ones are a pound less five years on and have an arguably sleeker look... inflation-busting stuff. The shoe is a mix of a carbon composite heat-mouldable chassis with a microfibre upper, and there's a micro adjustable buckle retention system. Bont's resin has been perfected over three decades, and to fit the shoes to your feet you simply whack them in the oven at a low heat for 20 minutes and then stick them on (the process can be repeated as many times as you need to get the perfect fit).

Other features include medial longitudinal arch support to prevent over pronation, lateral forefoot support and replaceable sole guards. They weigh 295g in a size 42, and there are plenty of air vents in the upper to keep your feet cool and comfortable.

The shoe will be available to buy soon, in black or white colourways - check out Bont's website for more info.
