Condor Cycles to show four new bikes at the Cycle Show this week

Updated Fratello Disc, Baracchi, Bivio Gravel and Super Acciaio Disc

Here’s another reason to attend the Cycle Show this week: Condor Cycles is unveiling four new and updated bikes.

- Cycle Show 2019 preview - tasty bikes and kit from: Cannondale, Colnago, Pinarello, Ribble, Continental + more

CONDOR 2020 Fratello Thru Axle Stone Blue

The London-based bike brand’s most popular model is the Fratello touring bike. It has now been updaed to accommodate thru-axles with the disc brakes that were introduced as an option a couple of years ago. The frame is made from Columbus Spirit tubing with all-new rear stays, internal cable routing and wider tyre clearance, it’ll now take up to 32mm tyres with full-length mudguards.

Don’t worry, you can still choose the Fratello with rim brakes.

CONDOR 2020 Baracchi Disc Green White

The Baracchi, a model that has been around for well over a decade, is a carbon fibre endurance bike that is now only available with disc brakes. It accommodates the latest disc brake standards with 12mm thru-axles and flat mount interface callipers, and internal routing.

The achingly beautiful Super Acciaio Disc, one of the very first modern steel race bikes launched back in 2012 that helped kick off a resurgence of highly capable steel bikes, gets a host of updates. The updated Columbus Spirit HSS tubing is joined by a new fork, new CNC machined dropouts and full internal routing for Di2 and EPS.

CONDOR 2020 BIVIO Gravel Thru Axle 00306

Lastly, the Bivio Gravel 2.0 is an update to the company’s gravel bike that first launched in 2017. The bike was developed from the Bivio-X cyclocross race bike but modified for gravel and adventure riding. The new incarnation gets a new fork with space for up to 45mm tyres and compatibility with 650b wheels, internal routing for hydraulic hoses, thru-axles and other small updates.

The pricing is interesting. Several hundred quid hikes on the thru-axle frames.

I've been looking for a Fratello sort of bike recently and this seems to be par for the course. E.g. Genesis do a Croix de Fer frameset with QRs and ISO brake mounts for £500, but the thru axle flat mount version will set you back £900. Admittedly they are also different grades of steel, but not sure that alone justifies the hike.

Also surprising that the Fratello is apparently a flat mount frame, but they're showing it with massive TRP HyRd post-mount calipers - probably doesn't show it to best advantage.

I don't think I have enough money to splurge on all of them at once!
