I noticed that Carlos Sastre uses 170mm cranks for road races but 165mm crank for TT races.
Normally, riders use longer crank in TT races than road races.
For examples, Andreas Klier, Heinrich Haussler and myself. (Are there a business cards at head of post?)
My body height is same as Carlos Sastre and my road racing bike setup is exactly same as Sastre.
But my TT bike uses 175mm cranks?
Any secret inside?
They arrived today - thanks again guys! Now to investigate some way of getting them framed & displayed...
Oops! Sorry Roberj4 we're talking about a Schwag grab that's already closed.
Good opening to the season, nice bikes and cool Team kit deserve to do well...yes please add me in
Thanks Tony.
I get the PM content via gmail, but can't see it (or respond) via the Road.cc site...
The email went to Dave's @f-at address on Friday 20th, if that helps.
Hmm… no. Did get your twit though.
Hang on I'll PM you
Hi guys, did you get my email?
The best looking kit in the peloton - would be great to win the Schwag!
John the monkey! sorry to everyone else who missed out... look out for a new schwag grab soon...
Yes please count me in!
Nice Schwag guys, count me in.
Nice Schwag!!
Excellent bit of schwag!
Remember Danny Lloyd from his MTB days.
Would be great to get those pics in a big shiny frame.
Yes please,Im on board...
Well who wouldn't want those to put on the wall, great when trundling out the door on a winter ride to motivate you... plus riding Q-Rings to a TDF win made Sastre an innovator whilst lots scoffed off-round rings... as he says in Overcoming "its not easy"
I didn't realise Sastre rode off- round rings in the tour. But the idea isn't new, I have some shimano biopace eliptical rings from the late 80's or early 90's, and I think Dave Zabriskie blamed them for a slipped shift which made him crash in the TTT when he was in yellow a couple of years back.
They keep cropping up, and I understand the theory about eliminating the dead spot, but does anyone know if they've been proven to work?
(Yes I know Sastre won on the Alpe D'Huez, but that was down to the off- round objects resting on his saddle!)
I would love those mounted on the wall opposite my turbo trainer as a bit of inspiration....
Si.
Oh boy, that's a fantastic bit of schwag indeed - my name in the hat please!
yeah, there goes my pension!
Allez Sastre! My hero for mugging Evans in the Tour.
