Hmm thanks, interesting, I hope more manufacturers are making this low clamp stack height soon, I'm very doubtful this deda stem design will be reliable long term and really don't like the matching bars I'm stuck with either, the width of the bars are a so narrow compared to regular 42cm bars and my shoulders are only 38cm just doesn't feel right?

Think the planet-x version is the same 35mm stack height (i'd check with them!) but longer lengths.
Try FSA. They have a short stem clamp in my experience. Must be an Italian thing...
ok cheers, that Thomson Elite x2 is interesting? don't fancy eating a face full of tarmac anytime soon thats all
Of course Deda would say that... it'll be fine, just change the bars.
If it was the other way around, I might advise differently.. i.e. the bars were recommending a certain stem, but any alloy bars will be fine with that stem.
I thought of that but deda recommend you use the same bars, its an unusual weight saving design stem.
Thomson Elite x2?
Why not just change the bars and leave the stem in place ??
