The annualRide London kick in the face.

So February is coming and so is the Commiserations kick in the face from Ride London I've found out that I'm not in and so can you, albeit on a smart phone. Follow the link and sign in, click view and then receipt and if it says cancelled just sit back and wait for the kick in the face from the Postie. Good luck with it though.

Mine is also showing as cancelled. Shame really, but I guess as a resident of SW London, I can just ride the route whenever I feel like it...

Same here rejected every year and I'm pretty flipping local so I don't think there is some underhanded plot to stop people from other parts of the country.

I - and others have asked on their FB page. No answers yet!

I have been rejected every year so far, 2015 looks like no exception!

I hope it's not correct, third year in a row cancelled, if so.

I don't think I've known anyone who made it in through the ballot. I know people always bang on about whether there are quotas but I do wonder if only a certain number of "locals" are allowed in?

What are people talking about? When I registered, the site said no money to be paid until the results of the ballot. Certainly never asked for any bank details...

Are you sure? I thought we had to provide bank details.

Cancelled for me too. Again, would love to have done it for a third year in a row.

Re payment not working: Probably because the site is only half live 9and shouldn't be accessible). It's only the third time in a row that they've rather ballsed this bit up!

Hmmm... Seems odd people having no way to pay? I had to make make payment when I initially registered?!

Just had a mosey at the link too and can't see the word 'cancelled' on there anywhere... Maybe I am one of the lucky ones?! I'll keep you posted...

It really is a crap website. After three years they should have improved it but they just don't bother.

When you register for the ballot you do NOT have to pay. However, IF you pay and you're unlucky in the ballot, you get entered into a secondary round of the ballot. If you're unlucky at that point your fee goes to charity and you don't get a place.

If you log in (on a mobile), look at your receipt: it will either say Approved or Cancelled. If it's cancelled, you're out.

1. What's wrong with the website? We're going to find out soon enough anyway so it really doesn't matter if there is a leak, nobody has to look at.

2. You also get a jersey and entry in to a ballot for the etape if you are unsuccessful and have donated your fee to charity.

Cancelled! Well three years in a row was pushing my luck, but after last years down pour I am itching to improve on 2013. And the push down Putney High street and along the embankment is exhilarating. I can't not do that again. So my name will be in the hat and I will book the weekend off next year too. Don't be down heartened, this event will run for years and years and quite soon nimbys will give up when they realise it has positioned itself as the London Marathon of sportives.

Now what should I do instead?

I have £58 on mine and no way to pay it either but I was told that's not indicative of an accepted entry

Just looked at it again and mine says cancelled at 07:58 28/01/2015 but I know people that have £58.00 on theirs but no way to pay it.

I rang them and they said the ballot is still running, nothing released until 06/02. Apparently they've had a lot of calls as a result of the posted link.

I went on last night to get my status, but it doesn't really matter that is said Cancelled, because I've been guaranteed my place since the middle of last year as part of the recumbent test event.

They have no closed down the login page though.

It isn't a separate event. It is part of the main field 1

if you're desperate for a place there are many, many charity places- but those do of course come with the fundraising requirement, which can be a tricky sell.

I'm not too fussed about it I'm going to do a couple of the local events.
