Seriously. You ride over that kind of stuff. Why would you? I do my damnedest to avoid that kind of crap. Once had a blow out on a hill. Caught a flint. One minute rolling smoothly. Next pssst and then the front wheel vibrating violently as the rim tries to saw through rubber. Took every once of skill and concentration to come to a halt without dropping the bike. Also one of the local crits a few years back had a huge pile up when a rider slid on a patch of diesel/oil. He brought down about 10 others with him. Road rash, torn lycra and one rider with a stuffed collar bone. This incident in Surrey isn't health and safety gone mad. It's about the fact that some individuals have attempted to damage other peoples property and technically blocked the highway. Which is a criminal offense here in the UK. IF and it is a big IF they catch these individuals they might even be charged with criminal damage of the riders bikes as well as blocking the highway. Though it is highly unlikely as in other cases the culprit has got off scot free.

Ah, you must be that Surrey C@nt! Why take one person(s) ignorance and add to it? I cycle all over Surrey & also drive an X5. I do it (drive) safely and it isn't for my ego (or appendage)
I have almost been wiped out by people and abused for cycling two abreast in the middle of nowhere, on a wide empty road by a self proclaimed 'cyclist'!! The only thing that unites these people is their ignorance , lack of awareness and anger management; not their car type.
There are arseholes on foot, bikes, in cars & lorries etc.
They are linked by their lack of ability to co-habit with society, not their mode of transport.
It's a lazy argument and any valid points suffer accordingly!
