1/2 eaten sandwich, he had obviously put it down long before he decided to drive in such a manner that resulted in the death of an innocent young pregnant woman.
A spokesman for Kensington and Chelsea council said: “We have created 8km of new Quietway routes in the last year, meaning people can travel around on roads which generally have fewer heavy vehicles, but we will continue to look at ways to make our streets safer."
QUEITWAYS ARE NOT PROPER INFRASTRUCTURE FFS!!
No, but they're not quiet either, so I'm sure it all cancells out...
I wonder if the broadsheets, the red tops and the BBC et al will run a bunch of articles to attack HGV drivers and hauliage firms?
I hope the family get the justice they deserve but should not have happened in the first place.
It is depressing.
It strikes me that there's another angle to this, that these incidents take a disproportionate number of teachers, hospital workers etc... People we really shouldn't be happy about being squashed in our capital city streets.
Of course, it's crass to place a relative value on lives, and yet the rags were all over that in this year's Case of SkullTattoo Illegal Fixie vs Smiling Mother.
The company that runs the trucks seems pretty dodgy.
Its so sad that nearly every week SKC have to organise a vigil for another victim. It also seems that women are being killed by HGVs in disportportionate numbers. Surely this should be investigated and solutions should be sought?
Khans unsafe lorries ban is a joke too, as it goes nowhere near far enough until 2024 by which time dozens of cyclists will likely have been killed.
Thankfully the contractors where I work in the Cambs countryside are using the new safer lorries in the city centre and using the older ones for rural jobs.
Has now been dissolved - (at least) the second company associated with the Drummond family to have been dissolved following an injury or death caused by one of their drivers...
