Pirate Juice 4Is this the loudest kit you’ve ever seen? Pirate Juice doesn’t do subtle
We’re not sure how we’ve missed British clothing brand Pirate Juice until now, but the clothing company that originally started as a race team in Chester certainly stands out with their colourful designs.
If you’re not a fan of the subtle designs regularly seen on cycling clothing then this might be just the brand for you. We're getting strong notes of Tiger King here.
Pirate Juice focuses on creating bright designs that Pirate Juice advertises as causing stranger to ask where you got it, presumably in a good way. They also claim that it is “the greatest race kit known to man and beast.”
5 ways proper kit can boost your riding
Pirate Juice says little about the features of their kit, but it is described as ‘race fit’, which isn’t that surprising from a brand that started out as a race team. A close look at the pictures shows that the sleeves and back panel are made using a ribbed material that we often see on aero jerseys.
Mesh fabric is used for the side panels while the neck is cut low for a better fit in a racing position.
Is this the worst cycling jersey ever?
Pirate Juice offers their jerseys individually or you can buy a matching set of jersey and bibshorts. Should you want to get yourself kitted out then the ordering process is a little different than you might be used to. First, you buy the garments that you want, and then you send your measurements to Pirate Juice.
We’ve got some kit on the way to the office for testing. We’ve just got to find a rider that likes their kit nice and bright.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. They aren't my thing at all. I remember the 90s; had the T shirt also. I've no wish to revisit the acid styles of the past. But don't me stop you from getting some if that's what you want.
The 1980's have called. They want their clothes back!

Hitting it with some big colour moves! A refreshing take to move away from the normal regurgitation of the same same. Get on a bike and enjoy the hell out of it.
I have been after some less road but ridiculously bright and colorful summer tops, baggy mountainbike style preferably. Mountain bike commuter me, and using courier bag so back pockets are pointless and less good. I did manage to pick up a couple of shocking pink and blue striped Morvelo tops a few years back. These colours would be good, but in a T shirt form. Mountain bike stuff tends ot be quite subdued, no need for being seen on the roads if you are driving to the trail centre.
Any ideas?
I'll take this over the "tastefully understated" (rough translation: dull as dishwater) stuff that's served up year in, year out from the usual "premium" brands.
Ideal for cycling to a rave in a field and then home very, very quickly.
What's next, Hypercolour lycra?
Sounds like Liam wasn't around in the eighties, the era of fluo cycling kits. Similar colours just different designs.
90's kid
Not often do I feel like I missed out...
There are only so many colours to choose from, but those designs look great. None of the usual symmetry and earthy tones of dung. I suppose if you want to be edgy but on the safe side there are 10 or 20 brands to choose from, but these are refreshingly different.
