Try the newkid on the block
http://www.plotaroute.com
Its brilliant. So quick and easy to use.
Its simply a matter of dragging the route to where you want it to be. Its so easy.
Plus 1 for plot a route, excellent platform
The best program to use is www.gpxeditor.co.uk
Download the route you wish to alter in gpx format and then upload it to the gpx editor site with a right click and load
I won't go through all the commands but to alter a gpx route right click and use "define segment" to say which part of the route to alter. Then move the mouse and the route changes. Finally, right click to accept or cancel
Have a look at www.ridewithgps.com - I find their maps much easier to edit
