Never had an issue with the Looks (at varying prices) across my bikes.
A mate got some of the Exustar that run Keo cleats and they look pretty decent, comparable to my 'middle' of my 3 sets, only around half the price I think.
I have two pairs of time iclic pedals, I wouldn't buy them again, they both need servicing and you can't service them....

Can't buy the cleats on their own for much less than that!
I went from 540 to 550. Much nicer pedal and steel plate so not constantly replacing the plastic body cover. Easier to clip into as well. Can pick 'em up on ebay for £20 -£25 at the mo.
